Confirmed: American Airlines' New DFW Flagship Lounge Now Open
Confirmed: American Airlines' New DFW Flagship Lounge
Opened: May 16, 2019
Confirmed!
While traveling through Dallas Fort Worth Airport (DFW) today, 5/15/19, we received confirmation that the classy new American Airline Flagship Lounge will be opening its doors on 5/16/19. The DFW American Airlines Flagship Lounge is about 24,500 square feet making it just a bit smaller than the Miami (MIA) Flagship Lounge but still considerably larger than the Chicago (ORD) and Los Angeles (LAX) Flagship Lounges. American Airlines has spared no expense and spent $200 million renovating their lounges recently. The DFW Flagship is the fifth Flagship lounge, and offers lounging areas, individual work space, quiet rooms, showers, a diverse range of foods including buffets, chef's table with rotating menus, beverages including beer, wine and even a make-it-yourself cocktail station.
Access to the AA Flagship Lounge cannot be purchased, and you must be flying in international first or business class. Another way to obtain access is to have elite status with American Airlines as Concierge Key, Executive Platinum, or OneWorld Emerald member. If you have any of those levels of status and are traveling internationally, the class that you’re flying in doesn’t matter. Note: if your travel is within the US, Hawaii, or the Caribbean, you won’t be able to access the Flagship Lounge. See our prior article on American Airline Flagship Lounges:
If you aren't able to gain access to the Flagship Lounge, there is a multitude of other lounge options at DFW depending on what cards you hold. If you hold an American Express Platinum Card, you can visit the Centurion lounge in Terminal D. Just be aware that they have been strictly enforcing the new "No arrival entry" and "no visiting before 3 hours prior to departure" policies, which should help reduce the crowds in these popular lounge (AMEX’s new Centurion Lounge policy). If you hold a Citi AAdvantage Executive World Elite Mastercard you can access the American Airlines Admirals club, also in Terminal D. If you are flying with Delta, and hold the Delta Reserve American Express or American Express Platinum, you can access the Delta Sky Club in Terminal E. If you hold a Priority Pass you have access to multiple other lounges including the Gameway Lounges in Terminal E and B as well as The Club at DFW in terminal D.
