Hotel Upgrade Guide
We created and tested our “Hotel Upgrade Template” to go from a 1 King City View Low Floor to the Bungalow Pool View with a Private balcony overlooking Tropicale, Eden Pool, and Miami Beach during our stay at the Miami Beach EDITION!
Instructions
1) Use the below template by copy +paste into your email editor (ie: Gmail).
2) Replace [bold areas] with your information
3) Search for a relevant email address at your hotel. Most hotels have an “info@hotelname.com” email address and they’ll forward it to the appropriate address internally.
4) Send this email 1-2 weeks before your stay for the best results. Some hotels can accommodate requests closer to your stay.
REMINDER: Please do not use this on every stay! Save it for truly special occasions.
NOTE: Sometimes hotels won’t be able to accommodate an upgrade. You may get a welcome amenity such as a bottle of champagne, wine, chocolates, etc. If a hotel can accommodate an upgrade, it’ll most likely be confirmed at check-in so don’t worry if you get a generic response initially.

Send To: info@hotelname.com, etc. Call and ask for the concierge’s email if you can’t find any relevant email addresses on the hotel’s website.
Subject: “Celebrating [Special Occasion] at the [Hotel Name]”
Hello [Insert Hotel Name (ex: Miami Beach EDITION)],
[I/my (gf/fiance/wife/bf/husband/spouse) and I/we/my family and I] have reservations to stay at the [insert hotel name] on [check-in date to check-out date]. The confirmation number is [#xxxxxxxx], and the reservation is booked under my name, [insert Full Name]. My [Marriott/Hyatt/Hilton] loyalty number is: [xxxxxxxx].
[I’m/We’re] excited to celebrate [my/our anniversary/birthday/special occasion] at the [Hotel Name]! Would it be possible to request a "happy [special occasion] note" or something similar upon arrival to take back as a souvenir? If the note could say something like "Dear [Name(s)], Welcome to the [Hotel Name]. We hope you have a wonderful stay and enjoy your time in [City the hotel is in (ex: Miami Beach)]," I would greatly appreciate it!
I believe my [insert loyalty status level (ex: Bonvoy Titanium)] status may qualify [select me/us] for an upgrade. We're currently booked in a [insert current room type]. If there is availability, would an upgrade to a [insert desired room type] be possible?
I've read many positive reviews about the [hotel name] and am very excited to stay at one of the top hotels in [city hotel is located in]. I'm looking forward to being able to add another positive review!
