Chase Teams Up with Spotify to Save You Money!

Free Spotify Premium Membership

Chase and Spotify are teaming up to save new and existing members of Spotify money on their Premium membership! Spotify is a digital music and podcast streaming service that gives members access to millions of artist's content from all over the world. The Premium Spotify membership allows for ad-free music listening and offline downloads, which costs $9.99/month. But, if you start a brand new Spotify Premium account and charge it to your eligible Chase credit card account, you will get 6 entire months of Spotify Premium totally free. That is a total of $59.94 in savings for just putting your Spotify spend on your Chase credit card. The savings will be refunded back on your Chase card via a statement credit. Cardmembers must enroll in this benefit by 5/31/2020, to take advantage of it.

Spotify Premium Existing Discount

If you already have a Premium Spotify account, you will receive a 5% discount on your current bill for 6 months when you pay with your Chase credit card. This totals to approximately $3 in savings over the 6-month promotional period. It's definitely not much savings, but it's something. The savings will be refunded back on your Chase card via a statement credit. Chase has really been ramping up its partnerships for 2020 after announcing new relationships, including greater rewards with companies such as Lyft, DoorDash, and now Spotify and ShopRunner.

Free ShopRunner Membership

Chase has also linked up with ShopRunner, which is a service that offers 2-day free shipping and free returns from over 100+ online retailers. Chase is offering a complimentary ShopRunner membership to eligible cardmembers for 12 months. While it's always nice to get free perks, most American Express cards also provide a free ShopRunner membership without a 12 months expiration period. If you pay for ShopRunner without a Chase or American Express card, you will be paying $79 per year for the membership. Chase cardmembers must enroll in this benefit by 2/28/2021 to take advantage of it.

Is your Chase Card Eligible?

To check if your Chase card is eligible for these benefits, Chase has created a landing page to verify your account eligibility. To activate and enroll in the benefits, follow the prompts on the Chase page. This is where this benefit may vary between Chase accounts. When we tried to activate the benefits with our Chase Sapphire Preferred and Reserve they were both denied eligibility. We then tried Chase Freedom, which unfortunately was also rejected. The last card we tried was the Chase Freedom Unlimited, which was eligible! Hooray!

Final Point

We have no idea as to what makes one card account eligible or not. But we are excited to see Chase adding extra card benefits, despite how small they may be. It is possible to save at least $59.94 on Spotify Premium in the first 6 months on brand new accounts, which is significant because Spotify deals are extremely rare. Comment down below, DM us on Instagram or message us on Facebook to let us know which one of your Chase cards were eligible for these benefits!
