Art Basel at Miami Beach is just around the corner scheduled from December 5 - 8, 2019. This international art fair will display over 268 galleries from 35 countries and will showcase over 4,000 artists. The weekend event draws art lovers, dealers, artists, collectors, and partiers from all over the world to warm Miami Beach. Last year, Points Passport attended the American Express Platinum House event, at 1 Hotel South Beach. This exclusive American Express event included complimentary, small bites, drinks, live music, and goody bags with American Express swag. We had such a blast at this event that we have been eagerly awaiting any announcements regarding this year's American Express Platinum House at Art Basal. Unfortunately, upon contacting our American Express Platinum Concierge, we discovered that there would be no Platinum House at Art Basal in 2019. After two years of Platinum House events at Art Basal, American Express would not be returning for a third consecutive year. Instead, an American Express Platinum House even will be held in NYC between 11/30 - 12/1, 12 pm - 5 pm. Check out the American Express Platinum House website to find out more.
This is where Chase's Sapphire Lounge comes into play. With Art Basal weeks away, and no American Express Platinum House to lounge at, we had to find other options. Fortunately, it looks like Chase will be throwing a Sapphire Lounge event at the Delano Hotel on South Beach. The Delano is located right in the heart of South Beach at 1685 Collins Ave. The Delano South Beach is in the SBE Hotel Group which partners with Chase to provide some extra benefits when booking with your Chase Sapphire Reserve credit card. When booking with the Chase Sapphire Reserve you will get some extra benefits such as your fourth night free, a $30 in hotel dining credits, complimentary Wi-Fi, complimentary breakfast, and late checkout when available.
If you don't want to stay at the Delano, we wouldn't blame you. For the Art Basal weekend, rooms are ranging from $900 - $3000 per night at this boujee beachfront property. Luckily, you'll still be able to access the Sapphire Lounge to sip cocktails and meet renowned artist Jgoldcrown as long as you have one of three Chase accounts open. According to the Chase Sapphire Lounge website, you will "enjoy special perks and benefits when you show your Chase Sapphire card". Then it shows three Sapphire products: the Chase Sapphire Preferred card, the Chase Sapphire Reserve card, and the Chase Sapphire Banking debit card. Also, Sapphire customers can bring one guest on a first come, first serve basis. So keep in mind you might want to arrive at the Delano Hotel when the Sapphire Lounge opens at 12 pm on December 4 - 6. The Sapphire Lounge will be finishing up at 8 pm, just in time for dinner.
